Issy and the funny things she says............

So Issy is becoming a talker. She has taken a little longer than other kids to finally get sentences down and everything. Now she just jabbers. This was a conversation that I witnessed yesterday between Issy and her dad.

Issy runs into the kitchen,
"Daddy, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Ty,
"I don't know, Issy, what are you thinking?"
Issy,
"No dad, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Ty,
"I don't know, what am I thinking?"

This went on for a few more minutes until Issy just ran out of the room. It was pretty funny because she doesn't understand the concept of that phrase. Ty and I got a good laugh out of it!

Then the other day, Issy woke up in the morning and runs down the stairs and smiles really big and says,

"Hi mom, What's up Babycakes!"

Again another good laugh out of that one.

Issy's new favorite song is Viva La Vida by Coldplay. Everytime it plays in the car or at home, she dances and sings. The other day we were in the car and I started singing too and Issy says,

"No mom, you don't sing! Issy sings because it is her song!"

I thought okay then I won't try singing that song anymore with her.:0)

There are so many more funny things and as I remember I will post them.:) I sure love my little beautiful girl who brings so much joy into our lives.:)

Our Day at the Beach

This last week, we went with a few ladies from our ward and their kids to Newcastle Beach. It was the best day weather wise of the week so it made it all worth it!:) I wasn't sure if Issy would go in the water but she ended up going in up to her knees which was a huge step for her. We had a great time hanging with all our friends and enjoying the beautiful Northwest Seattle Summer Weather.:)

Off to Vancouver BC we go.........................

This last weekend, Ty and I decided to get away. We had been through a lot of hard stuff in the last month and needed some time just the two of us to relax and enjoy one another. We dropped Issy off at my parents and headed north to Canada. It had been since we were both little since we had been there so neither one of us remembered Vancouver at all.
We enjoyed the car ride up just talking and excited for the next couple of days. When we got to our hotel, it was on the water. Ty booked us a very nice room at the Westin Bayshore there.
Our view from our room

That night we got there we just ordered in and hung out with one another. We woke up Friday morning and were planning on going to this place called Playland but when we drove by it looked really cheap for the price there were charging to get in. When then drove back to their big park in Vancouver called Stanley Park. We drove around the park and decided to go to the Aquarium there in the park. It was amazing and like triple the size of the Seattle Aquarium. There were so many amazing animals and fish. Here are some cool shots Ty got.

We then headed to Robson street which is a big shopping area in Vancouver. We walked around the shops and ate some dinner and just enjoyed the beautiful weather there. We ended our day by driving up Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. There were beautiful houses and it was a fun little drive. When we got to the top, there was this cool park called Capilano Park so we got out of the car to walk around. We discovered this beautiful river and amazing dam there. We walked around, took pictures and laughed so hard just enjoying each others company. You know how people say there are moments in a marriage where you fall in love all over again. This was one of those moments for us. It was the first time in months Ty and I were both so relaxed and not stressed about something.Saturday morning, we slept in and then got up and got ready and checked out of our hotel room. We stopped at some outlets in Canada before heading home to the good old U S of A.It was so nice to get out of town for a couple of days with my amazing husband! We were able to figure out a lot of things about our future and what we want to move forward with as a family.:)

4th of July

So another 4th has come and gone. The weather this year wasn't the greatest but we did end up having a good day. We started off the day but getting up and going up to the elementary school by where we live and they had a little 4th fair type thing there. There were pony rides, train rides, big bouncy toys and food. We stood in line for the pony rides as Issy LOVES horses and was so excited. At least that is what we thought until we got to the front and she screamed and didn't want to ride the pony. Oh well, at least she got to see the Ponys. My family joined us for this fun as well as spending some time there with the Simons, Christensens and running into a few more families from our ward.

We then came home and ordered some pizza with my family and had some lunch. We also let Issy throw some Pop Its outside and she got a kick out of these.cleaning up the pop its mess

We ended the day by having a BBQ with a few friends and then heading to the front of our houses and lighting off fireworks. It was a lot of fun to eat, socialize and see the fireworks. After we were all done, Issy, Ty and I jumped in the car and drove around our neighborhood to see all the firework shows that people were lighting off. It was a lot of fun and a great end to our 4th!:)

Fun in the Sun......

The last few days have been amazing weather. We have had a great time enjoying the sunshine and being outside. The weather started off nice on Thursday of last week and we started off the weekend right having a pizza party on our porch with our friends the Reynolds. The kids played and had a great time driving their cars around.Issy and Wyatt driving her jeep around

A cute picture I got of the Reynolds newest addition, Talmage. I loved this picture!

The next day, we woke up to pure sunshine, not a cloud in the sky. Jen and I wipped out the little pools and filled them up with water for the girls. This was our fun tradition last summer and is continuing this summer.:)Issy and Taylor

That night, Ty and I got to go out on a date. We went with a bunch of couples from our ward to see Brian Regan at Marymoor Park. He is a great comedian. We had a great time at dinner beforhand with the Reynolds and Olsons and although we didn't sit by everyone else, we got to see the Simons, Hastings, Howells, and Shaws briefly as well. Overall I know that we all enjoyed the show!Mr. Brian Regan himself!:)

Saturday we woke up again to blazing hot weather. Issy and I went outside again and I got some great shots of her playing in the water.

After playing in the heat for a while and running some errands, the Hadleys joined us in the heat of our home to play some Ticket to Ride. This has become one of our favorite games to go along with Settler of Catan and Carcasson. We had a great time playing even though we were fighting to stay cool. Sunday we had a nice day at church, watching the Euro Championship Game and going to the Lathrops for some dinner. Yesterday, we rounded out our fun in the sun weekend by breaking down and getting a air conditioner. Ty and I couldn't handle the heat anymore. I can say that today it has been much more cool in our house.

This is just the beginning of the summer and I can't wait for many more sunny days to enjoy. I know they won't last forever!
