Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend full of fun things to do and celebrating the Easter Holiday.:)

We woke up Saturday morning and my mom, my friend Jen and I headed over to our friend Sommer's house for her purse sale at her house. She sales amazing purses and if anyone ever wants any info, let me know.

We then came back and picked up my dad, Issy and Ty and headed up to a park a mile away for a fun Easter Egg hunt put on by our friend Mara. The kids had a great time hunting for eggs and getting all the candy. None of our husbands would volunteer to be the Easter Bunny so Jen was a great sport and put that suit on. It was great!:) It was a windy day so it was cold but we were all just happy there wasn't any rain!:)

We ended the day on Saturday by going to a wedding reception of a friend JeVonne. It was great to see some old friends and talk with people that we don't get to see very often.

We then headed to our ward 50's inspired party. It was fun to sit and watch all the kids and people in our ward dance and have fun!:)

We woke up Easter morning and got all ready and went to church. It was a amazing sacrament meeting with some wonderful talks about the Savior and his resurrection. The spirit was very strong today in church and I feel so blessed to have the gospel in my life and in the lives of our family.:)

We spent the day after church with my family and Ty's celebrating this special holiday!

We had a great weekend with our friends and family and hope you all had a very Happy Easter!:)

Happy Birthday Jacob...........

We were so happy last night to be able to got and celebrate Jacob Flowers birthday with him. Our family and the Flowers have been friends for 12 years and we consider them family as well. I have seen Jacob grow up since he was 3 months old. He is such a amazing young man and we love their whole family so much. What true friends that have become in our lives.:)

The little kids crawled up on Marlo and Ben's bed to watch a show while all the boys and men were downstairs loving the new Rock Band Jacob got for his birthday.

Happy 12th, Jacob!:)

Some New Additions to our Home

When we moved in our home we didn't anticipate having to change much to the inside since we were only planning on staying here a couple of years. Unfortunantly one of cats felt differently and decided to make our family room her liter box. Lets just say that the smell would not go away. We then realized the only way would be to get new carpet. We searched and searched for the best deal and came across one at Loews. We also realized that we needed to get rid of my beloved kitty Roxy.:( We first recarpeted with darker carpet and a better pad the downstairs. After that was finished, we realized we needed to do the rest of the house to match. We are so happy with the result. In the process we finally took Issy's crib down and rearranged her room to be more a little girls room than a babys.:)

We were also able to upgrade our Queen bed to a King and get a new bedroom set. We are still waiting on the Bed Frame to get here but we love having more space to sleep..:)

Some Good Lessons......

I just wanted to share some great quotes that have been given to me over the past week or I have heard in church. There was a great lesson on Sunday in our Relief Society about Charity. It reminded me that I need to not be so selfish in life and looks towards helping others. I am grateful for the lessons that have been taught to me and for knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me and so does my family. I grateful to know that through Charity and hard times, we find happiness and recieve blessings.:)

There was a great talk that I was told to read by Marvin J Ashton from the Ensign in 1992. It is about not hurting people with words. I am grateful for this reminder in my life. Here is a great quote from there,

"We are reminded that Jesus Christ, the only perfect person to ever walk the earth, taught us through quiet example to say nothing or to be silent in stressful times in our lives rather than to spend time and energy bashing for whatever purpose."

This quote was given by our Relief Socity Teacher on Sunday,

"Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone’s differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone doesn’t handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another’s weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other"

And of course this is a quote from one my one of my favorite scriptures,
“Charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever.” (Moro. 7:46–47.)

I am grateful for my weaknesses and that I can make them my strengths. I am grateful for my husband, family and friends who accept me for who I am and love me through my faults. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to help others and grow in that way. I am grateful for those special Sundays where you come away and really feel like you took something with you from church. I am just so grateful for the gospel in my life.:)
