The last few weeks of summer

This summer has been a very busy but fun one for us. We have had some really fun vacations. A lot of trips to different beaches, water parks, etc. We have also enjoyed that overall great weather we were blessed with here this year. As everything does though, all good things must come to a end. Since returning from Sunriver, it feels like our lives didn't really slow down. We wanted to take advantage of the last few weeks of summer that we had left.

We ventured one more time to Rattlesnake Lake which has become one of my favorites around here. It is so close too and so beautiful. Issy for sure loved it!:)Ty and then had the chance to go to the Sounders game again using my dad's great season tickets. It is so amazing to see how soccer has really taken off here in Seattle. People are just as excited about the Sounders as they are about the Seahawks. Plus who can beat Qwest Field? It is amazing!:)

Another one of our passions is football! I love football and more importantly we love the Seahawks. My sister is a Seagal again this year so we were able to go to both Preseason games that they had here. The Seahawks went 4 and 0 in the preseason which they never have done. Hopefully that means good things for the season. The first game was against the Denver Broncos and we went with my parents, Issy and our neighbor and friend Nick. We had great seats and it was so cool to feel the energy that football gives. It made us so excited for the season. The second game was against the Raiders. We left Issy with my parents and took our friends the Reynolds. Sommer had never been to Qwest Field or a NFL game before so it was fun to have that experience with her. Unfortunantly I forgot my camera so there are no pictures from that night. It was a great night though!:)

We went with a few friends one day to try out a new park we hadn't been to in the Issaquah Highlands. They had a really big play set and some swings. It was a really great park for kids. Issy enjoyed it!Issy has been taking a little soccer class with a few of her friends this summer. They did it for 8 weeks and Issy really enjoyed it. Being a mom who loves sports and especially soccer, I enjoyed it as well. Issy loved soccer so much that we signed her up with her friend and our neighbor Taylor for another soccer class this fall at the Issaquah Community center. I am really looking forward to it. Here are some pictures on her last day. With TaylorMy FAVORITE!:)

Our Stake had a BBQ for everyone in the Stake and their friends. They did this last year and it looks like it might be a yearly thing. There was food, games and bouncy toys for the kids. Issy of course stayed at the bouncy toys the whole time. What a fun night!Issy and her buddy Eden

So anyone who knows me knows that I have been driving around a 1999 Chevy Tracker with no automatic locks and automatic windows. It is a pedal to the floor driving car and I have gotten good use out of the thing. I have wanted a new car for a while. We finally we able to budget it in and feel comfortable about it. We set off to Honda of Bellevue. I use to nanny for 4 years for some great families the Courters and Blantons. They each have two girls and I use to watch them all. The girls grandfather owns the Honda of Bellevue so they were very kind in helping us get a car. Ty and I test drove a Pilot and a CRV. I was leaning toward the CRV because it was more comfortable and easier to drive. Ty on the other hand wanted the Pilot. I was hesitant because it was a bigger car and didn't see the need for a bigger car. At our rate of having children, that wasn't a factor right now. So Ty and I battled for a little bit and after hearing his reasoning that we just don't know what the future holds and why not get a car that we can drive for another 10 years. He was right and we were able to get the Pilot. I have to say that I love it! It is so amazing to have a nice new 2010 car. Thank you Courters and Blantons and Honda!:)My old Tracker My New Ride!:)

Ty has also been having issues with his car. It was only 6 years old but he had driven a lot of miles on that thing and we realized we were sinking a lot of money into it. My grandma wasn't driving anymore and so we payed her for her car. She had a 2006 Honda Accord with very low mileage on it. It was a blessing for us and Ty. We both get to enjoy new cars.:)Ty's old carTy's new ride!:)

To kind of end our summer we headed with our friends the Hadleys and Lathrops to the Gorge in George, Washington for the Dave Matthews concert. Dave Matthews comes to the Gorge every Labor Day weekend and does 3 shows there. Ty and I went while we were dating and early on in our marriage but it has been about 6 years since we have gone to his concert. We all packed in Amanda and Chad's van and enjoyed our couple hour journey there and back together. The music was awesome and Dave played some of our favorites! We had a great time other then all the pot smoking going on around us. Crazy times! Thanks Hadleys and Lathrops for a fun time!:)
