Another Full and Great Weekend

This last weekend we had hot weather and a great time enjoying these last few weeks of summertime.:) Every year Ty and I love to head to Alki beach in Seattle during the summertime. The views from there are amazing of the Puget Sound and Seattle. We also love to go eat at one of our favorite little places called Spuds over there. They have great Fish and Chips and Chicken Strips. This year we invited our friends the Reynolds along. We all enjoyed the food, except for the restaurant having no air conditioning and be really hot. After dinner we headed out to the beach during sunset and walked along the water and talked and had a nice time. Here are some great pictures we got of the sunset and us.
When we got home, Ty was online Friday night and was looking on Seattlepi.com. It turns out my sister(who is a Seagal for those who don't know) had a photoshoot promotional event that day. That is all my family knew. Ty opened up a article and this is the picture he saw. Ty called me into the room and we both were in awe that my sister is just standing there talking to Matt Hasselback. Hello, he is the Seahawk quarterback!!!!!!!

So Saturday morning we woke up and I dropped Ty off at his PJ Primary party. Ty teaches the 5 year olds and he loves it. He has been in Primary ever since we have moved into this ward. He is so patient with the kids and they are so lucky to have him. While he was gone, Issy and I did power shopping at Costco, Target and Safeway. We got everything we needed to done in exactly 2 hours. I think that is a record for me. We picked Ty up and went home and got ready for the preseason Seahawk football game. We headed to Seattle with my parents early because my sister was performing in Touchdown City. After that, we headed over to the game and made it to the end of Half Time before Issy got really tired and ready to go. By Half time anyway, they have all the 3rd string players in the game during preseason. The Seahawks were down in the 3rd quarter so we were happy that we left. That is until we got home and realized they came back and beat the Bears in Overtime. Go Hawks! This family can't wait for the real season to start! To top off the great night at the game, while we were at Touchdown city before the game(where my sister performed), there was a silent auction going on. My mom said to pick out a item to bid on for fun. We decided to put the opening bid down on a autographed Yogi Berra picture figuring we would be outbid for sure. For those who don't know who Yogi Berra is, he is a Hall of Fame catcher who played for the Yankees(yes, my beloved Yankees). We went back when the auction was over and we actually won the picture. No one else bid. Why the heck not, I can't figure out. We got it for a steal. My mom gave it to Ty and I. Needless to say we were thrilled and came home and put it right up on the wall.:)

Sunday, to end our weekend we had a nice day at church, and some great naps. For dinner we had my parents, the Flowers and our friends Becky and her daughter Lucy over(Adam, Beck's husband was working). We set up our BBQ outside in the front and we all enjoyed some great hamburgers and hot dogs. We then chatted and let the kids play. I got this super cute picture of Isaac Flower driving Lucy around in Issy's jeep.
It was such a busy weekend but a wonderful one. I love summer weekends like this where you get to spend time with family and great friends doing lot of fun things. It makes you appreciate this beautiful place where we live.

Then you wake up Monday morning, like today to rain! Thank goodness for the good weather on the weekends!:)
