This last weekend was a wonderful weekend for our family. Ty and I started off Friday night going to a Michael McLean concert. For those who don't know who he is, he is a great singer and song writer in the LDS church. He made the trip up here in honor of a Adoption Conference that was going on. Ty and I were asked to help out with the concert so we were happy to be able to go. There ended up only being around 50 people there so it made the concert that much more intimate and personal. He told stories and sang songs that touched so much of our hearts. He sang songs from the birth mothers perspective, the adoptive couples perspective, the child of adoption to their adopted parents perspective and even the birth grandparents perspective. In between all the songs, he had stories for each song and shared personal experiences that really touched the room. He brought all the stories and songs back to adoption and how to not long for a child or a situation but to live in the moment and find happiness in each and every single day. The Lord will bless us if we have faith and know that our blessings come on his time. It was such a spiritual uplifting for Ty and I. We cried with everyone else there as the spirit was so unbelievably strong. I am so grateful to have had that experience with my husband and those who are in the same situation as us. Afterwards we got to meet Michael McLean and I was able to thank him for his music and let him know what a comfort it has been for our family.:)

On Saturday, Ty, Issy and I were able to have a morning of sleeping in and relaxation. We did go out and do some grocery shopping and cleaned the house but we really just enjoyed spending some quality time together. Saturday night, Ty headed out with his buddies, Chad, Nick and Matt to the Mariners Game. They had been wanting to all go together for a while so they were happy to be able to do so. They had a great time although the M's lost to Tampa Bay. While our hubbies were away, Jen, Amanda and Sommer came over with their kiddos and we ordered pizza, the kids played and we all just talked and enjoyed one anothers company.

Sunday, we of course went to church and then we headed home for some afternoon naps and Olympics watching. Then we headed with our friends the Reynolds to my parents for some good old BBQ and hanging out. The kids enjoyed playing while us adults talked and watched some more Olympics. It was nice to have my family get to know our good friends better!:)

We are so grateful for a weekend filled of the spirit, family and friends. What more could you ask for!:)
