The rest of our Holiday Season

The last couple of weeks were a crazy blur but they were also a lot of fun! I love the Holiday season for so many reason but most of all for the feeling of excitment for Christmas day with Isabella. We enjoyed getting out and doing more things with her this year and enjoyed seeing her enjoy them as well. It is nice now that she can understand and enjoy fun activities more. Here is a final recap of the last few weeks of 2009.

Last year Ty started the tradition of doing a Gingerbread house with Issy. Last year they tried the Costco one. This year I got them one that I found at Fred Meyer. Issy was way more into it this year and her and Ty enjoyed putting it together and seeing the final product. This year we thought it would be fun to go into Seattle and see all they had to offer for the Holidays there. Ty's sister Tiff and her little family were staying in Seattle one weekend before Christmas and so we went out there and met them. We ate and walked around Westlake mall. Issy and her cousin Addie rode the Carosel there and got baloon animals. We went to the Fairmont hotel and saw they bear exhibit and finished our day off at the Sheraton Hotel seeing the giant Gingerbread houses. We enjoyed the day although by the end, Issy had a fever and didn't feel as well. She kept a good spirit though throughout and enjoyed her time with her cousin. We also headed back over this year to the Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed the lights again this year although we didn't get many pictures. Issy wasn't in the mood to take any pictures and we weren't up for a fight with her. I did though get a picture of my favorite part of the lights.A couple of days before Chritmas, we celebrated the Holiday with Adam and Becky Lathrop. Adam is like a brother to me and so we always have a little Christmas celebration with them. When Issy and their daughter Lucy get together they always love to wrestle. They put the beat down on each other and seem to enjoy it. I got these photos of them having some fun!On Christmas Eve this year instead of going to Ty's parents like we normally do, we headed to Fall City to Ty's sisters house for Christmas dinner and gifts with all the Bailey clan(minus Tor and his family). We enjoyed a nice dinner and a little dirty bingo as well as our gift giving tradition. It is always nice to get together the night before Christmas and celebrate with Ty's family. We have done this Christmas Eve tradition for a few years now and it is always something to look forward to.Christmas Eve night we came home and wrote Santa a letter and put our cookies and milk for him and his reindeer. It was so fun seeing how excited Issy was for Santa to come.Christmas morning came and we were all so tired and exhausted from the crazy week so far that we slept in till almost 10. I know on Christmas this is probably unheard of for little kids. My Issy is a great sleeper. We all got up and spent the morning together with our little family opening gifts and having a nice breakfast. After we got showered and dressed we headed over to my parents house for the afternoon to my parents house to continue Christmas with them and my sister and grandma. It was a fun low key afternoon where we opened presents, had a yummy dinner and enjoyed each others company. The highlight of my Christmas was when Santa(wink wink) left a big Surprise for Issy at my parents house. When we got there she was given a box and inside was a new addition to our family. A brand new little kitten named Huey. She was so excited and seeing her light up was the highlight of my day. The rest of the day she really didn't care much about playing with all her toys she got. She just chased around her little kitty everywhere. It was a great Christmas overall and we feel so blessed to have the family and friends that we do.As we celebrated the new year, Ty and I were able to go on a date together that night. My parents watched Issy and Ty and I went to dinner and then went and saw Sherlock Holmes. It was a great movie and we really enjoyed it. It was nice to just get away the two of us for the night and enjoy each others company after such a crazy Holiday season. We came home and let Issy stay up until midnight. We toasted the new year all 3 of us with some Sparkling Apple Cider and then soon after Issy crashed next to me on the couch. It was the perfect way to ring in the new year.

As I reflect on this past year, I realized we had a great year as a family. We grew closer, learned to communicate better and appreciate the now. In this coming year we look forward to a couple fun trips together as well and fun times spent with family and friends. We look forward to that day we will be blessed with another child but until then we will find joy in the now. Heres to a great 2010!!!!!!!!!
