From July 17-22nd Ty and I were able to get away just the two of us. We really love to try and do this once a year or so together. Back on our anniversary in April Ty found out that Chelsea was going to be playing Inter Milan at the Rose Bowl in California during this time in July and he bought tickets for him and I. We were excited because we decided to plan a fun trip around the game. About a month before we were suppose to leave we found out that AC Milan(one of Ty's favorite teams) was coming to LA also to play the MLS team LA Galaxy in a friendly match while we were going to be down there. We decided to get tickets for that game as well. We left Friday night late on the 17th and arrived at our hotel late that night and we got some well needed rest.
July 18-We woke up and decided to head up to our pool at our hotel and relax in the sun and read our books that we brought. It was nice to just be able to not have a time limit or have to keep track of a child for once. We then got all showered up and headed to The Grove in LA. It is a really nice outdoor shopping mall. Right next to it is a The Farmers Market in LA and we headed there because they have this little Brazilian restaurant that Ty and I found about 5 or 6 years ago. We had a great Brazilian meal(much to Ty's liking) and got ourselves all full for the afternoon.

After leaving the Grove we headed over to the Walk of Fame. There is a mall there called the Hollywood and Highland mall and we parked there and walked around some of the shops. We saw this huge crowd around one of the stars and people taking pictures. When we got closer we relized why....

We then headed out and drove through Beverly Hills and down along the Santa Monica Blvd. We passed one of my favorite temples on the way to Santa Monica.

We then headed to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica and walked around down there. We had never been there before. It was fun to see some of the street performers. We ended the night with a stop at my favorite In'n'Out Burger and went back to the hotel for the night!:)
July 19th-We woke up and decided to do something we have never done before and we got ready to go hiking. We headed up off of Mullholland Drive to Runyon Canyon. It is this beautiful hike that runs all along the edges of the hills above Hollywood. It was really hot but Ty and I really enjoyed the time together and the amazing views that we saw.

We then headed back to our hotel for some more pool, reading and relaxation time. Then we got all showered up and we headed to the Home Depot Center in Carsen California. This is where we were seeing AC Milan play LA Galaxy. We had to wait a little bit for the gates to open so we decided to walk around. They had a cool star walk of fame of their own and we were able to see Mia Hamm's star. She was hands down one of my most favorite athletes.

Our seats for the game were amazing and we had such a great time watching several of our favorite players play. I love David Beckham so it was great for me to be able to see him live again. I was able to see him play for Real Madrid a few years back. Ty enjoyed seeing all the Brazilian players on AC Milan as well. The game ended in a 2 to 2 tie so we were able to see a few great goals. We had a awesome time there!

July 20th-Ty and I woke up and got all showered up and headed out for the day. Our first stop was the Santa Monica pier. This is one of our favorite places to go in LA. We love walking up and down the pier and seeing the views from there. We love seeing what the people are making on the pier and checking out their little stands. We also enjoyed getting some great food there off the pier and taking a stroll up and down the path of Santa Monica beach. There was a perfect breeze coming from the water and it made for a nice stroll together.

We then drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu. It was nice to just go for a drive together and chat and enjoy seeing the beautiful ocean. We then headed inland and up to Burbank, CA. We headed to the WB Studios. We had never been a tour there and were excited to do that for the first time. They took us on a 2 1/2 hour tour of the WB lot and we were able to get out of the little tram car and see a museum with clothes from famous shows and movies. We were also able to see a car museum with famous cars from shows and movies. We then went to their huge prop department and were able to see what props were used for movies and TV shows as well. We also got to see the whole Friends coffee house set. We then were able to go into a actual sound stage for a TV show called Chuck. That was pretty cool to see that. We found out on the tour that the WB actually produces 70 percent of the shows on TV but ends up selling them to the TV sations. That means that a ton of them actually film on the lot we were at. We weren't able to take pictures on a lot of the tour but here are some of the pictures we were able to get.

After the tour of the WB Studios we headed over the the City Walk at Universal Studios. We grabbed some good dinner at the Sandle Ranch. We then did some shopping as well. This is another place that we love to go when we get down there to LA. It was a great day!

July 21st-After a busy few days we decided to sleep in. We then went to the pool again and had a nice last time hanging out there. We then showered up and headed up to Pasadena. We walked around Old Pasadena and saw some of the shops there and just hung out anxiuosly awaiting our Chelsea vs Inter Milan game at the Rose Bowl. We headed down to the Rose Bowl and it was pretty awesome to finally see a big stadium like that. It was blazing hot and it took a while to get into the stadium. Once we did, we found our seats and we were in for a fun night.

During the warm ups and before the game had even started, we saw a little bunch of people huddled down on the field. When we looked down there was Charleze Theron. For those of you who don't know who she is, she was in Italian Job and Hancock. She was there to talk about a charity. After she did her bit on the field we noticed that she was headed up our aisle with her body guards. We were like 19 rows from the field. Ty was by the aisle and when she walked past, he could of touched her. She is beautiful! I think he was a little stunned how close she was to him.:)

Then after we saw her, we noticed another star on the field. This time it was Will Ferrell. He was there to do the coin toss and he was the honorary captain of the Chelsea team. We didn't get as close to him but it was still cool to see another famous face.:)

After all of that then it was time to watch the game. The game was part of a tournament here in the United States called the World Football Challenge. Chelsea, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Club America were part of it. Chelsea ended up winning the whole tournament. In the game we saw Chelsea beat Inter 2 to 0 and I was able to see one of my favorite starts Frank Lampard not only play but score a goal. Ty and I had a blast and it was such a amazing experience to see these great international players.

July 22nd-After a really fun trip, Ty and I were really excited to get home and see our little girl. She did great for grandma and grandpa while we were gone. This trip really helped us realize how important it is to have some alone time together because it makes us appreciate each other and appreciate being parents!:) Thanks Ty, love you!:)
